Custom Wedding Website Design for… Myself!

I got married in May of 2023, and while I was preparing, I just KNEW I had to make my own, unique wedding website!

I was incredibly excited to do so. I started by deciding to build the website as a page on my existing domain. Even though I built it on my stephrupp.com domain (right here, baby), I hid the main navigation, header, and footer so that the wedding website felt like its own, separate site.

Before beginning the website development, I established a color palette that I would use throughout my invitations, signage, decor and more. I wanted the entire wedding suite to be consistent and flow well. Along with the color palette, I purchased a package of icons that I would distribute throughout my website and other designs.

Once done with the basics, I decided that I wanted my guests to land on a big image of myself and my fiancé, Ryan. I added our names and the date of our wedding so that it would be clear that my guests landed on the right page and could find useful information almost instantly!

After adding the header image (taken by the NEXT-LEVEL AWESOME Emma), I established a navigation area so that guests could know what to expect on the page. Each item was clickable and would link to an anchor in the appropriate section lower on the page.

I created different sections for event details, RSVPing, introducing the wedding party, travel guidance, gift registry links, FAQ and a photo gallery.

Squarespace makes it easy to ensure that your website is mobile friendly. I adjusted small things to make sure that my guests could RSVP from their phones.

I am extremely happy with how the site turned out and I got so many lovely compliments.
